I'm a Mum, I work for Teen Challenge in South Australia and I run my own business. I'm passionate about Jesus-focused spirituality, my family, teaching and helping people achieve their goals! I'm interested in using open source and technology to help bridge the digital divide and to empower people, especially those on a low income.
I'm Regional Director of Teen Challenge SA Inc-Murray Bridge (http://www.lm.net.au/~tcmb) a non-profit organisation which helps people with life-controlling problems. As part of my work for Teen Challenge I've set up training centres in Murray Bridge, Elizabeth and Waikerie (all using Linux). The Murray Bridge training centre is for community access where I teach basic computing, on Linux, for people on low incomes. Elizabeth and Waikerie training centres are for our residential drug rehabilitation students only.
Thanks to Christopher Harvey for the layout ideas for this user page. :-)

I'm an INGOTs (http://www.theingots.org) accredited Gold level Assessor and Trainer. INGOTs are International Grades In Office Technology. INGOTs certificates cover a range of desktop/office computing skills as well as involving students in the worldwide F.O.S.S. community and cause.
I also provide training for other groups, Govt departments etc on a contract basis on Windows or Linux.
Other Training Projects
Using Xubuntu
Two local year twelve students helped recycle some old pcs and install Xubuntu. They learned some valuable hardware and software skills, this was their first experience with Linux. They were also given copies of Ubuntu for their own use.
Women & Tech
A new trial project hoping to start next year, similar to above - group of women - recycle old tech, install & configure Ubuntu Linux, they get to keep the computer they've built. I'll be looking for funding for this project and will keep good documentation of it too. For the trial I'll be writing the student's notes as the course progresses.
