Listening, viewing and responding

Students need to develop effective communication skills. This involves

  • appreciating the content and context of a range of communication forms
  • being able to listen, view and respond

Listening, viewing and responding

This dimension focuses on developing

  • student understanding of communication conventions
  • strategies to assist them to make meaning of communication forms
  • an ability to deconstruct and respond to a diversity of forms
  • familiarity with forms, language and conventions used in different contexts across the curriculum.

Presenting

All learners need to be able to present new knowledge in a coherent and appropriate manner.

This dimension involves students gaining the KSBs

  • to understand context, purpose and audience;
  • select and use appropriate structure and organisation to convey meaning;
  • reflect on the style and content of the presentations they make.
